Joe's holidays

Had a great weekend in Donegal. Joe handled flying like a pro, don't know what I was worried about! Thanks to Karen's babysitting I had a few nights out too, can't handle Guiness anymore though! Managed to leave my phone behind in the rental car so apologies if I didn't reply to your text or phone calls, I'm up and running again though with the same number as before.

Joe has finally met up with his new cousin Chloe, I'll post photos as soon as I download them.
Chloe is lovely of course and made me realise how much Joe has grown.

Second set of jabs tomorrow, so I'm not looking forward to that. Oh dear...

Edu wins the World Cup

Eduardo came to Teddington at the weekend with his Mum, Alessandra, and Dad, Tom, to watch his first World Cup. After Tom cooked us all some fantastic pasta Edu saw his home team take home the trophy. Very exciting! It was nice for the rest of us to see what it's like when your team wins on penalties...
Joe is looking forward to hanging out with Edu at Bestival and hearing his Dad play some tunes.
Joe's Mum and Dad are off to Somerset House tonight to hear Elbow, so Granny P is babysitting after doing such a good job last week! Thanks Phyllis!

Another bean on the way

Congratulations to Sam and Paul with their happy news of a forthcoming addition.
Another pal for Joe on his holidays!

Planet Mum

Haven't posted on here since Joe was born - oops!
So thought I'd give a progress report. Motherhood is going well and I feel fine.
Joe is a very good sleeper at night, he's in bed by about 7.30, we wake him to feed around 11, then he generally sleeps until around 6 and naps (if we're lucky) until 7 when his day starts all over again. He naps for about 4 hours during the day but he's finding that difficult in this heat.

So what have we been up to? We went to Cameron's birthday party, have been for a very posh lunch at the Glasshouse in Kew where Joe behaved impeccably and charmed the waiters, we went to a very swanky barbecue at Simon's bosses house near Henley and had a trip on a beautiful boat, a couple of visits to the Pottery Cafe to paint china and lots of trips around Teddington and into Kingston. Every Thursday I join the post natal fitness class in Bushy Park where Joe meets his friends Finn, Joe, Max and Iris. We're hoping to make it up to the open air heated pool in Hampton as soon as Joe has his second lot of jabs, as well as the new term of Gymboree in September and baby sign language classes.

So as you can see, Joe has a far more active social life than I do, although his Dad is taking me to two Somerset House gigs, Jose Gonsalez this week, Elbow next week. We're trying to buy some garden furniture while the weather is still fine but have only got as far as a Big Brother beanbag. We're off to Donegal soon, Joe will have his first trip on a plane so I hope that goes well, Meg has given me lots of tips after her flight to California.

Anyway, time to wake Joe up and go for a coffee. Visitors are always very welcome in Teddington, don't wait to be invited!

P.S. Astro turned the back garden into a replica of the killing fields last week unfortunately, hopefully I won't find any more bird heads this week!
