Pirates of the ... er, Thames

After much deliberation we've decided on a pirate theme for fancy dress day at Bestival. This weekend we will mostly be in the garden painting bits of cardboard which are going to transform Joe's pram into a pirate ship. The mind boggles! How embarrassed will he be when he's older?!

We're looking forward to a really camp time watching Scissor Sisters, Pet Shop Boys and Kid Creole & the Coconuts to name but a few, Simon is mostly looking forward to the food!

We have booked our campsite for the night before Bestival, last place for a hot shower etc. Then we're going on holiday to St Ives so that we can recover. We've had lots of recommendations for places to eat down there and we're really looking forward to trying a lot of them out.

More congratulations!

Another new bean has entered the world, Rachael from New Zealand has had a baby, Annie, both mother and baby doing well. If she sends us a photo we'll put it on here.

Andy Magee asked Aine to marry him and she said yes - hooray!

Neil Mackie hasn't worked for a year.

I won a tenner on the lottery and got a bonus in the same week!

So its champagne all round!

Mummy ramblings...

Joe is now sleeping through the night without a feed - hurrah!
So that means even more sleep for mummy - hurrah!

His lovely hair is now coming out and his grown up hair is coming up underneath. Looks like he's going to be quite fair and the threat of ginger seems to be receding!

After we've been to Bestival and Cornwall we're signing up for signing and swimming classes (seperately, not at the same time!) so I'll keep you all posted on how those go.

We all went to the Thai Food Festival at Battersea Park at the weekend but I'm not sure how impressed he was as he slept all the way through it - we enjoyed ourselves though and are planning a trip to Thailand as soon as he can eat proper food! He also met Eileen and Marina at their flat with their dogs Bertie and Eddie (very old, very cute) and we went to see Uncle Jim's old house on Prince of Wales Drive.

Another bean on the way!

More good news, Paul Stewart (Simon's best man) and Susannah are expecting a bean of their own - congratulations!

Joe's close-ups

Alex came round the other week to take these photos of Joe. Alex was the photographer at Mark & Vic's wedding a couple of years ago. We're so pleased with the photos and I've been recommending her services to everyone I can think of. I'm also going to put a link to her site here in case any of you are looking for a photographer! Unusually for a professional photographer she gives you every photo on CD so that you own all the pictures, none of this 20 quid per print rubbish. Her rates are extremely reasonable and the service is wonderful overall. I thought I'd put up a few of our favourites but it was very hard to choose from two CDs full of pictures! I hope you like them, we have loads more and are slowly choosing our favourites to be framed, for grandparents etc.
